That was before it was called the Play Store. There used to be a time where ad blockers were allowed in the Google Play Store. From system level in-app ads to pop overs to ads in browser. If you’re rooted, you can block all the ads. After all, they can’t sell ads and ad blocking apps on the same platform. Last year, Google completely removed ad blocking apps from the Play Store. If you think ads are too annoying or outright bad, you have the choice of removing them. But thankfully we don’t live in the world of 1984. It’s what helps them make awesome software (and what helps us bring you this website). If it’s not you, ads are what pay developers’ bills. Then there are sensible ads that only show up in the pause or settings menu. Banner ads that never go away, flash ads that take up the whole screen, and popups at the least expected time, leading you to open them mistakenly.
